Fun Facts

Teaching career:

- I started teaching in 2013.

- I have taught in 4 very different and amazing locations.

- I have taught 2nd and 4th grade, kindergarten with an early childhood and Reggio inspired focus, and EAL. 

- I love hands-on integrated inquiry projects that involve the whole community.

Family:

- I am the oldest of 4 girls. 

- Our sister singing group was called "The Lipstick Kids".

- We grew up playing house and school.

- I had a drawer of tools so I could be like my dad, Mr. Fix-it.

- They inspired me to pursue a life of education.

Husband:

- We first met in kindergarten.

- We have been together since 2007.

- At NASA, our colleagues called us the 'Dynamic Duo'.

- We love working together!

Pets:

- I grew up with ferrets, chinchillas, birds, lizards, all kinds of rodents, fish, turtles, frogs, dogs, and cats. My home was a mini petting zoo.  

- Now I have a laboratory rescued beagle named Bunny and a sweet sheltie named Raikou.

Hobbies:

- playing and making games 

- singing and swing dancing 

- reading and baking

- hiking and other nature activities

Known for: 

- wearing flowers in my hair

- bringing treats to staff meetings

- having a positive personality
